The authors
The SangoImmo blog is written by the team behind the costing engine and the open Cameroon construction price index.
How we work
Everything numeric on this site is produced by the same costing engine that runs inside the app, over the same 2026 materials catalogue — not typed into a page by hand. That is a deliberate constraint: a figure in an article and the figure a reader gets in the app cannot disagree, because there is only one of them.
- Measured, not estimated. Quantities come off real drawn plans — wall areas, opening deductions, roof surfaces — and the plans are published alongside the numbers so they can be checked.
- We publish gaps as gaps. Our measured price index covers Cameroon. For markets we have not measured, we say so and ask you to enter your own supplier prices instead of printing a plausible table.
- Dates mean something. A page's "updated" date tracks its content. Rebuilding the site, changing a footer or adding a button does not restamp an article as fresh.
- Open data. The price index is downloadable as CSV and JSON under CC BY 4.0, so anyone can check our arithmetic or disagree with it in public.
- No invented credibility. We show a star rating only when a store has produced real ones, and an author profile link only when the profile exists.
The full method — catalogue, labour ratio, tax treatment, regional factors — is written up in the methodology. Found a number you think is wrong? Write to contact@sangosarl.com with the page and the figure; corrections are made in public.
