Building in Nigeria: what changes, what doesn't

Most of what a builder does is the same everywhere: measure the walls, count the blocks, price the labour. What changes across a border is the currency the client reads, the language the quote is written in, and the standards the inspector cites. SangoImmo quotes in ₦ Naira, writes in French or English, and works with no network — which matters more on a site outside Lagos than any feature list.

Compliance checks in the app cover SANS 10400, the French NF DTU codes of practice and CEMAC-region practice. In Nigeria, the reference documents are published by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (NIS) — use the app's checks as a first pass, then confirm against the current national text before you submit anything.

Prices and methodology in Nigeria

Nigeria has its own seaboard, so imported materials — reinforcement steel, tiles, sanitaryware — land close to the main markets and carry less inland haulage than they do in the landlocked interior. Prices still move with the port, the exchange rate and the season, which is why the app costs from your prices rather than from ours.

Yes — the app is not tied to a city list: it costs whatever you draw, wherever you build, from Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, Ibadan to a site with no address yet. The one thing we do not do is publish invented per-city price tables for Nigeria; our measured index covers Cameroon only, so you enter your own local prices and the estimate becomes genuinely local.
